Shark Treffen 2025 LOGW

July 5 - July 12

Location of the Airfield

The WEIZ airfield is situated south of the Fischbach Alps, approximately 40 km (by road) northeast of Graz, at an elevation of 395 meters above sea level.

The airfield invites pilots to embark on long cross-country flights over the Mürz and Mur valleys, providing excellent routes across the main Alpine ridge towards the west and southwest. Additionally, flights to the east towards Semmering and further north towards the last high peak of the Eastern Alps, the Schneeberg, are popular, allowing for an eastward flight followed by a return westward.

Another particularly interesting route—especially in conditions with very low cloud bases in the Alps—is heading towards Hungary into the flatlands. Many cross-country kilometers have already been flown from Weiz using this route.

6th Shark Meeting – July 5 to July 12, 2025, in WEIZ

The airfield offers multiple towing options. For safety-conscious pilots, a push-pull tow is available (e.g., for two-seaters). The tow planes in operation include a powerful Breezer 915 Turbo and a Robin 180.

You can experience a video tour of the airfield here:
